Nice to Meet You!

Hi, I'm Michelle! I'm a communications specialist with interests in marketing, DE&I, and international cultures. I graduated from UCSB with two Bachelor’s degrees in Communication and Global Studies along with an emphasis in Asian-American Studies. I'm a proud Vietnamese-American from the San Francisco Bay Area. As a part of Gen Z, creating digital content is a big part of my day-to-day life—it's no wonder I made it my career! In my free time, you can catch me combining my love for food and social media as a Yelp Elite, helping my mom use her cooking Instagram page, or getting deeply engrossed in a TV show. (currently watching: HIMYM)

My Digital Story

Since I was young, I have been drawn to storytelling and recording the many ways we live our lives. My curiosity inspires me to document the people, places, and things that shape our world. This is especially meaningful whenever I have the opportunity to travel, whether it be throughout the States or outside the country. I love having conversations with people from different backgrounds and learning from their perspectives. Here are the places I've been to (I have many more to go!). ✈️

My knack for creative hobbies has maintained a constant flow of personal projects from acting in UCSB's Vietnamese Cultural Night to being the editor-in-chief of my family newsletter (which was born out of the COVID pandemic). My passion and joy in bringing ideas to life translated naturally into my work in marketing and communications, where I tailor details and adapt to various mediums to share impactful messages. The only creative hobby I don't have a knack for is making music, but like my work, I will always put in 110%—to being a great karaoke partner. 🎵

Currently, I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. 🌉  While I feel fortunate to be in the heart of innovation, I am open to working virtually from anywhere. I am eager to explore a variety of fields, so long as I can make a meaningful impact. My professional journey has taken me through government, nonprofit, and startup environments—each vastly different from the others. I went from sharing city resources during the COVID pandemic, to hosting virtual public policy summits, to marketing crowdfunding at the world's biggest board game conventions. I’m excited to embrace whatever comes next head-on and with open arms. There's so much to learn!

Thank you for reading!

Let's connect for a virtual coffee.
